Ibo Island Lodge, Mozambique

From July to October I travelled through several countries in Southern Africa with my husband. We visited some amazing places along the way, packed with fantastic architecture, culture, scenery and people. The locations varied from key tourist attractions to secluded spots far off the beaten track. In the Indian Ocean off the coast of North East Mozambique lies a collection of beautiful little islands collectively known as the Quirimbas Archipelago. Ibo Island was not the easiest place to reach on our journey, but definitely worth it. Peace and quiet reigns on this mangrove surrounded spot, and the island is dotted with old colonial buildings as well as traditional village structures. Ibo Island Lodge is based in a collection of old restored buildings overlooking the ocean, and below is a selection of images from this beautiful establishment.

Knappskog Skole, Norway

Knappskog Skole is a primary school in Fjell Council outside of Bergen. Vaardal-Lunde recently completed the work inside and out and the result was documented during one of the darkest days of the year. The colors inside really brightens up the place, and color schemes are used throughout to separate the different parts of the school. I recently had the pleasure of working with Fora Form to document a range of their new products. It was great to get more insight into the works of one of the longest running furniture companies of Norway and have the opportunity to contribute to their success. Bath & Castle Combe

A late summers day brought me back to Bath and Castle Combe, two beautiful places I last visited ten years ago. Bath with its amazing Abbey, narrow alleyways and buzzing life sparkled against a bright blue sky. Castle Combe is called the prettiest village in England, and for its reasons. The age- old small cottages and the beautiful old church makes it a really interesting destination.

Westminster Academy, London

I had the opportunity to photograph Westminster Academy recently. This great building was designed by London based Allford, Hall, Monaghan and Morris and opened its doors in september 2007. The colors stand out from the immediate surroundings and make the academy a really interesting subject matter. The combination of open plan and smaller study rooms creates an interesting dynamic within the building and it feels really open and bright throughout.

Salem, Bergen, Norway

This is a new interior project shot in Bergen. It is an old building in the city centre recently taken over by Salem and modernized and redecorated by Vaardal-Lunde. A great place to shoot and a really inspiring experience.

Il Duomo, Milan

On a recent trip to Milan, climbing the stairs to the roof of Il Duomo, was a must. The cathedral was first begun by Gian Galeazzo Visconti in 1387, but took almost another 500 years to complete.

The view from the top is amazing and it is a unique way to get an overview of this interesting and varied city.

Standing on top of Norways sixth largest glacier on the first day of the year is pretty amazing and simply deserves to be posted her.

Ayumu Restaurant, London, UK

Ayumu is a stylish Japanese restaurant based in Sheldon Square, Paddington. I had the pleasure to photograph this newly opened establishment and enjoy the elegant atmosphere and some sushi.

“This new Japanese has opened on the former site of Yakitoria. Unlike its predecessor, Ayumu will specialise in East-meets-West fusion of Japanese food with a Western twist. The large open-plan interior (with roughly 120 covers) includes a bar area, sushi bar and a traditional robatayaki (grill).

The kitchen is headed up by former Zuma chef Nasser Laziri, who will bring his distinct style of cooking to the restaurant.”
